S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl review - works on Linux Desktop with Proton but poorly on Steam Deck

As per previous comments, I'll be waiting a while on this until after a lot of bug hunting. Loved the previous games and this looks great fun.

Plus I only have an RX 6600 (for now), the poor little thing might burst a blood vessel trying to run this.

Also, excellent review :)

Quoting: tuubi
Quoting: nnohonsjnhtsylaySadly its written in rust so it takes forever to compile on my computer, even with my cpu with 24 threads
Took less than a minute for me on my eight cores. I suppose that's pretty long but not quite forever.

Just for reference, it took 3 minutes 41 seconds to build on my 5950X (16 core).

Just tried the demo and this is a very addictive casual game. Something I didn't realise I needed ;) Great fun and added to wishlist

Well... played the demo for a couple of hours and I like it. I can understand the "bit fiddly" comment above but it's growing on me rapidly and I'm going to buy it for the Linux support

This looks like my kind of thing and may pull me away from Valheim (for a while)

Edit: Trying the demo now!

Linux remains above 2% on the Steam Survey for June 2024

Quoting: KorhakaI had the hardware survey just now. I have 1 SSD and 3 HDDs and it marked them all as SSDs. Other than that it got everything correct. Seems odd that there is no way to flag that it detected something incorrectly.

Got the survey yesterday for the first time in many, many years and it registered my HDD as an SSD as well, along with my four SSD/M2s.

Anyone use this? How does it compare to managing GOG games through Lutris?

I'm leaning more into GOG so would like to get opinions on the best way to deal with it

Looks good to me... if the native build appears I'll be all over this.
