JSAUX released their first White 6-in-1 Docking Station for handhelds like Steam Deck
25 November 2024 at 10:30 pm UTC

QuoteIt's usually $45.99, but they have a sale on right now so it's $42.99 until December 5th. Pretty great price really for what you get.
Being a first time customer of the website, I got an additional 15% off the price. So the final cost was $38.70. Considering that the SteamDeck Dock costs $79.00, the JSAUX is a good deal. There are certain aspects of the SteamDeck Dock that I like, e.g., the wider base and the right angle USB-C connector; but these differences are not a deal breaker for me.

The Spell Brigade is an online co-op survivor-like bullet-hell friendly-fire chaos festival

QuoteThe Spell Brigade is also Steam Deck Verified.

I purchased this game a few days after it entered Early Access. I checked the Steam Deck Compatibility rating and discovered it was verified. I found this somewhat surprising. It seems to me the majority of games that have recently entered Early Access have a Steam Deck Compatibility rating of Unknown. Which makes sense.

Then I watched a YouTube gamer playing Spell Brigade on a Steam "Live" broadcast. He was playing multiplayer with three of the developers. During the broadcast, one of the developers mentioned that he keeps a Steam Deck by his desk at all times. If he wants to test a build, he grabs the Steam Deck to see how well things are working. Steam Deck Compatibility rating of verified... explained.

Slay The Princess Review: As Pristine As The Blade Cuts Deep

This game has been on my wishlist since it was released on October 2023. Having played another fantastic game developed by Black Tabby Games ( Scarlet Hollow ), it only took the slightest nudge for me to click the Add to Cart button. Thanks for the nudge Alexa! I know I am going to enjoy playing this one. Great review!

Halls of Torment hits 1 million sales - more free updates planned

If I notice that a game is made with the Godot Engine, that always piques my interest. When I notice that the game is under $5.00, that also gets my attention. When I discovered that Halls of Torment was Steam Deck verified, I bought the game. It is my goto Steam Deck game when reclining in bed before going to sleep. In my limited experience, the game works flawlessly on the Steam Deck. Some people might be bothered by the "retro" graphics, but I enjoy that sense of nostalgia. Some people commented that the game is "grindy", but I have found the progression mechanics are very engaging. Of course I am only 8 hours into the game, so that may change. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys bullet-hell video games.

Windblown is the next game from the Dead Cells team
17 October 2024 at 10:06 pm UTC

Windblown is being featured in Next Fest October 2024 event.

The game is being released into Early Access in a week (October 24, 2024). I played the Demo on the Steam Deck and it works very well. It is Steam Deck certified, which I find impressive for a game that has only a Demo available. After playing the Demo, I am thinking this is an instant buy upon release.

Humble Store has a big sale on Handheld Hits - cheap games for Steam Deck
14 October 2024 at 4:48 pm UTC

Thank you for alerting me to this Hand Held Hits Bundle. Lots of good titles in the list. I ended up purchasing DREDGE (46% discount). I can highly recommend this game for the Steam Deck.

On another topic, I went to purchase the Mad Multiplayer Missions Bundle mentioned in GoL today. I tried using the Humble affiliate/partner link available on the Support Us page to no avail. I did a little research and found this discussion on Reddit. I had a hard time sorting it all out, but one thing is very clear, it is a hot mess.

6 years after Kickstarter, Orphan Age dev Studio Black Flag shuts without a release
4 October 2024 at 2:46 pm UTC

I need help understanding this. I think I am missing something.

According to the Steam page for Orphan Age, the developer and the publisher of Orphan Age is Studio Black Flag. I assume that Studio Black Flag entered into a contractual agreement with a publishing company. Is this correct?

If this is correct, then what is the name of the publishing company that bought the rights to the game or studio?

I am asking for this information so I can add the publisher to my "naughty" publisher list.

Humble Choice for October is stacked full of good stuff
3 October 2024 at 3:21 pm UTC

I Agree! Excellent selection of games this month. Three of the titles were on my wishlist.

As a new Steam Deck user, I have been perusing "Top Steam Deck Games" lists. Games in the Persona series are always on these lists. Dome Keeper is favorably reviewed on r/SteamDeck as working on the well on the Steam Deck. I am also extremely curious to see what is going on with MCPIXEL 3. Any game that has a "titular wanna-be hero" as the protagonist is for me!

Valve puts two Steam Deck LCD models on sale for Steam's birthday

Thank you Liam for the "heads up" on this Steam Deck sale!
I have never seriously considered purchasing a Steam Deck. The Steam Deck articles in GoL were interesting, but I only gave them a cursory glance. Then why, within five minutes after reading this article, did I clicked the "PURCHASE" button for a Steam Deck LCD 512GB? These 11 words are the reason:

Quote...the higher model is a ridiculously good price with the sale.
These words made me realize I absolutely had to a Steam Deck NOW!
I am very happy with my decision and cannot wait for my new Steam Deck to arrive!

Thanks again Liam!
