I really like the hardware here and the resulting experience (based on video reviews we already had from LTT and D2D), but I really don't want a Windows device, if SteamOS will work fine on this device, then it's worth looking into.

This game is so appealing, I've supported it like 5 years ago...but the AI is still fundamentally broken for me, each time everyone dies because they stop doing anything. Every. Single. Time.

FYI it’s heavily crashing at start with 5.18.x kernels. Devs are looking into that, but no workaround ATM

I also was so surprised to see some action, unfortunately it's still such a mess to make progress and not having everyone die of hunger. Save & Load still helps and some things did get better. That said, I also have a soft spot for that gave as I was one of the early adopters and you don't get those type of games anymore (I do not tolerate simplicity of graphics and Indy-style games). Still managed to kill few hours over this weekend :)

Sweet. I'm sure there's going to be a Christmas sale soon or something. It was already 50% off recently, so a little patience and we can support these guys. Enjoyed Wasteland 2 and was waiting for this one. Just in time for my new PC :)

I don't see much value this time around (with RTX3000 and RX6000 series) in AOB versions of the cards. Probably with nVidia you get a normal power connectors and better cooling, but for AMD...I'm not sure, it looks like reference design is very efficient (read silent/cool (as in temp.)). But OC-wise, reference designs are running very close to the limits already, so...

As for me, I'm still a bit torn between 6800 and 6800XT, I'm not running 4K setup, only 2K, but I'd like some head room for a few years...my Ryzen 5900X is on a back order for God know how long, so I still have time to decide, I guess. I'm finally going AMD for Graphics, last time that happened it was Radeon 9550...

I don't know, it's a black screen on xorg, but on wayland I'm getting a graphic initialization error and incompatible vulkan driver version error right after =\

I watched an interview with the producer (I think) and they said they are not really investing into linux, because while it works somewhat it's fine, but no major investment/improvement planned because linux is such a mess.

That's very disappointing since I think War Thunder was the first game I managed to run back in 2013 when I've started my switch to linux.

Me too. I am unable to start the BYAR on my Fedora 33 setup.

I guess so, but I was dissecting the json with file list and downloaded and unpacked all the files and even got the main screen to load only to be presented that game:something not found...
