Intel to lay off around 15,000 staff as they try make $10 billion in savings

I'm not sure why companies are taking growth for granted. Why they won't rather work with what they made the current year and expect that the next year will be the same or maybe save some of the money for bad times if you are making more than you expected, so you have some reserves.

This is especially visible in game publishers, during the Covid pandemic they had record sales and expected that they will see grow like that each year. But you can't grow infinitely, the market is finite. They now need to fire people left and right because they were chasing short term profits instead of building resistant business.

As Liam mentioned I expect the same to happen with AI bubble, when the market will be saturated and there will be nowhere to grow.

The Jackbox Megapicker has been corrupting some Steam Decks

I wonder what the game could do that could corrupt the whole SteamOS. As the SteamOS is mostly read-only by default, I assume it can only corrupt the home folder of the `deck` user, which could cause issues with login the user in.

NonSteamLaunchers for installing popular stores on Steam Deck has big improvements

Quoting: ZlopezIt looks like an interesting tool I would like to try, but I'm waiting till the Decky Loader plugin is ready as the Decky Loader is nice tool as well.

Same, currently I use Junk Store for Epic and Gog on Deck. For the GOG support however you need to be a Trier 2 Patreon supporter as of now. Which is fair as these kind of things are a lot of work to get running.

Do you happen to have a link for their patreon? As my main interest is the GOG launcher.

Quoting: CatKillerIf you pick the Premium Delivery option on Normal difficulty, getting an S-rank will get you a Legend once per unique order, which shows on your player profile. Doing that on Hard gets you a Legend of Legends. Doing that on Very Hard (which I think is only in the Director's Cut) gets you a Legend of Legends of Legends.

I finished the game on Normal, so that makes sense why I never got it. Thanks for the explanation.

Quoting: CatKillerI haven't quite let go yet; retrieving other players' lost cargo from the Wind Farm and taking it where it needs to go is still quite fun.

Good work helping others with lost cargo . It's really great to see in this game that people are actually working together.

Hey, that's what I've been playing, too! Streamed from my desktop to the Deck, since it didn't look as good or perform as well running directly on the Deck. Now that I've got the platinum and 540 Legend of Legends of Legends it's probably time to start playing something else, but the gameplay loop of Hideo Kojima's Euro Truck Sim is very satisfying.

I have it hooked to a TV screen and it looks really great. But I never saw it in really high details, so it could be misguiding. 540 Legends of Legends of Legends that's pretty impressive. I never even got one (and I'm not sure how you even get that, my best was Legend and I got around 100 of them) and I finished the main story yesterday. So it's time to move one and try Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not

The Steam Deck is really awesome device. I'm not playing on anything else till I got it. Currently it's being used as kind of console connected to TV and the tools like Decky loader available for it are awesome.

Only thing I would like to see currently is upstream the drivers for Steam Deck to mainline Linux kernel. Otherwise it's really great device that gives you as much freedom with it as possible.

Quoting: ZlopezThanks for the tip, I didn't know there is a solution for the crackling sound, it's annoying one.

Only been using it for about a week now, so I can´t tell anything for sure, but it seems to work for a lot of people. You have to turn on the "Pause game before suspend"-option in the plugins settings.

I thought that the reason for this sound issue and some games not handling suspend mode well is that they are not paused when the suspend happens. Some games are just crashing or can't find external controller after they wake up. I found that for some game opening the menu (pausing the game) before suspend is preventing those issues.
