The Elder Scrolls Online now Steam Deck Playable, to be fully Verified in "a future update"
29 August 2024 at 8:36 pm UTC

I haven't played for a few years but it was fine when I did. I felt like it did the Elder Scroll's universe pretty well and had a reasonable quest to grinding ratio. I'm just not that into MMO's and lack the time to be a good party member. I tended to play solo which was fine as long as I was careful. I only grouped up to take on bosses.

7 Days to Die gets an experimental Beta for the 1.0 release

Quoting: EhvisI always played the Linux version (with Vulkan enabled). Haven't tried 1.0 yet because it is currently too hot in my computer room.
I tried with the opengl renderer and the video was very washed out and generally awful looking. I remember earlier Linux alpha builds had similar problems. It looks great with Vulkan. I hadn't tried that renderer in a long time. Played a few hours last night and it's working great.

So thanks for the tip.

Quoting: kit89Do the above gog links fail to open for anyone else?
Looks like they redirect through a tracking site. My network and browser config also blocks it. When I click on it the window flashes and I'm still on this page.

So the first link, https://af.gog.com/en/game/dragons_dogma_dark_arisen?as=1636858786, redirects to https://track.adtraction.com/t/t?a=1578845458&as=1636858786&t=2&tk=1&url=https://www.gog.com:80/en/game/dragons_dogma_dark_arisen

The DMCA allows for triple damages. It may not seem so but they probably got off relatively easy by settling. I imagine very big numbers were being tossed around and it's very scary. I know because I was sued under the DMCA a few decades ago and thank my lucky stars I didn't suffer the same fate as Gary Bowser.

Quoting: ZlopezI'm surprised to see Jim Whitehurst as Interim CEO for Unity. I thought that he currently has some top management function in IBM after being CEO of Red Hat.

I'm sorry they don't consider session management a show stopper. IMHO its quite a big regression.

NVIDIA driver 545.29.02 out for Linux plus other releases due to security issues
1 November 2023 at 3:20 pm UTC

Looks like there is a problem with the new driver launching CS2 under Wayland and/or gamescope:

https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/cs2-stuck-on-valve-logo-on-startup-545-beta-branch/269778/9

A fix was done but landed after the release was cut.

Just flipping through their forum shows quite a lot of people having a hard time with Wayland still.

NVIDIA Beta driver 545.23.06 released for Linux, plenty of new features

Quoting: sniper_nine 535.43.13 vulkan beta drivers work fine with 3090ti gpu. Not sure about the normal beta branch drivers though I am thinking the the fix needed for starfield didn't make in the normal beta branch drivers. I couldn't get any of the dlss mods to work. So for me fps are like 24-40 mostly around 30-35 though. But that is at 4k with the graphics maxed out. I haven't done much testing though. I spent some time trying to get the dlss mods to work but couldn't seem to get them working yet.

DLSS 3 requires a RTX-40 series card AFAIK.
