Mostly I wanted to buy direct from Valve because of warranty claim and not wanting to give the middleman that $100-200AUD or so. Also will be good if they sort this out for future hardware such as next-gen VR.

Quoting: CatKillerround for the two bullets on the level.

There are already a fair few shooter games like that, like this.

Jupiter Hell is one, but yeah its a saturated market so this would need to do something unique other then get gun and shoot stuff forever.

Yeah this constant dependence on Windows kind of shows that they aren't really interested in providing long time support for these devices like Valve has with the SD. Not worth the price tag imo!

Windows is going to continue to get worse and worse for handhelds as they keep introducing more 'services' to the payload, especially Microsofts big shift to everything 'online' AI assistance stuff.

Wine's Direct3D to Vulkan translation library vkd3d 1.13 out now

One of the biggest areas of weakness for VKD3D is Ray/Path Tracing performance it seems, in particular translating with D3D12 which I believe is pretty much the only API other then Vulkan that does RT/PT for games?

Someone was doing some tests on YT recently and noticed the huge performance issue with RT/PT under Linux with translation layer, almost %50 less fps.
