it "welcomed" me with: "unfasten your seat-belts".

Yes, most releases are just the Steam version with GOG's Steam crack applied – that's what GOG recommends instead of a proper DRM-free release.. That crack has no Linux version.

Is there a place to read something about this, maybe even on GoG?
